[ WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR BOTTLE AFTER USE? ]

Finally, a bottle that breaks down instead of breaking apart.

An ordinary supplement bottle outlives the vitamins inside it by centuries, shedding microplastics the whole way. A BioBottle® works like that bottle in your cabinet, then breaks down up to 90 times faster once it meets air, microbes and sunlight after disposal.

[ HOW TO SPOT ONE ]

One badge. Every BioBottles® product.

This badge means the bottle in your hand is made with BioBottles® powered by PlasticIQ®: microplastic-reducing technology, and still recyclable where your local program takes plastic bottles. It is the same badge on every product that uses them, so you can spot it anywhere on the shelf.

The two check circles tell you which part of the package it covers — the bottle, the cap, or both.

Three things you need
to know about BioBottles®

[ 1 ]
The bottle outlasts what is in it — by centuries

Discarded plastic bottles

You finish a bottle of vitamins in a month or two. The bottle can persist for 400 to 500 years, shedding microplastic fragments into soil, water, and us. Recycling helps, but most bottles never make it there.

[ 2 ]
Built to break down—not to break apart

A BioBottle breaking down naturally

A BioBottle® protects what is inside exactly like the bottle you are used to, with the same shelf life and safety. The difference shows up after you throw it away: exposed to air, microbes and sunlight, it breaks down up to 90 times faster than traditional plastic instead of fragmenting into microplastics.

There is no reason your favorite brand cannot use one

The BioBottles mark

BioBottles® run on the same equipment and need no reformulation. The technology exists and is already on shelves. If your supplements still come in ordinary plastic, that is a choice, and one you can ask your brand to change.

Switch to BioBottles

Your favorite brand can do this.
Most of them just have not been asked.

Bottles that break down safely instead of fragmenting into microplastics run on the equipment supplement companies already own, with no reformulation. The reason your vitamins still come in a 500-year bottle is that somebody chose that packaging years ago and nobody has revisited it since.

Pick the brand you buy, say something kind but clear, and we will deliver it alongside everyone else who asked the same company.

More things to know about BioBottles®

Are BioBottles® food-grade safe?
Yes. BioBottles® are FDA-compliant and meet food-grade standards.
How do I know if a product uses BioBottles®?
Look for the BioBottles® badge on the label. It is the same badge on every product that uses them, with check circles showing whether the bottle, the cap, or both are BioBottles®.
Will this make my supplements more expensive?
It should not. BioBottles® cost brands no more than 5–10¢ extra per bottle and run on the same equipment they already use — which is why there is little standing in the way of a brand making the switch.
Do they leave behind microplastics?
They are built not to. Ordinary plastic fragments into smaller and smaller pieces for centuries. A BioBottle® is made to break down safely into water, CO₂, and organic matter instead of fragmenting into microplastics.
How do BioBottles® biodegrade?
The difference is built into the bottle itself. A BioBottle® stays exactly like an ordinary bottle while it is in use — then, after disposal and exposure to the open air, it breaks down safely instead of fragmenting into microplastics.
How long is shelf life before degradation begins?
BioBottles® remain stable and fully functional for over 5 years under normal storage conditions.
Are BioBottles® recyclable?
Yes, where your local program accepts plastic bottles. They go into the same recycling stream as the bottles you already recycle; local programs vary.
Do BioBottles® meet regulatory standards?
Yes. BioBottles® meet recognized international standards for safety and biodegradability, and detailed substantiation is available to business customers on request.
What scientific proof supports this?
Independent studies (e.g., Queen Mary University of London) show BioBottles® degrade up to 90 times faster than ordinary plastic and are non-toxic on land and sea.
Where are BioBottles® manufactured?
They are manufactured in the USA, ensuring quality and reliable supply.
My favorite brand does not use them. What can I do?
Ask them. Brands pay close attention to what their customers request, and the switch is neither expensive nor complicated for them. You can send them a message through the petition on this page.
